A western Iowa teenager is among 51 young women who will compete in the Miss Teen USA Pageant, airing tonight at 8 on NBC. Jocelyn Borkowski of Harlan was crowned Miss Teen Iowa last November and she says she’s been very busy since then. Borkowski says she’s made about 50 appearances, like judging the Bill Riley Talent Show and appearing in many parades, in addition to working out for the swimsuit competition. She was asked if she’d like to be famous someday and for what. Borkowski says she’d like to be a top-selling fashion designer in Hollywood and have her own store. She was also asked — if she could travel into the future, how far would she go? She wouldn’t want to go, saying “It’s fun, suprising not knowing what’s coming up every day.” Tonight’s event is being held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Borkowski and the other contestants have been in Louisiana for more than two weeks, going through preliminary events. For more information, surf to “www.missteenusa.com”.
