Iowa colleges do well in U-S News rankings

Several Iowa colleges and universities are included in a magazine’s popular college-rankings. The U.S. News and World Report college rankings are on-line now. The edition of the magazine that includes the rankings goes on sale August 22nd. Drake University in Des Moines is ranked as the fourth-best college in the Midwest to get a master’s degree and the University of Northern Iowa is ranked 19th on that same list. Grinnell College is ranked number 15 on the list of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges. Four Iowa colleges are also ranked among the top ten comprehensive colleges in the Midwest. Wartburg College in Wartburg is number seven. Simpson College in Indianola is number eight. Central in Pella is number nine and Dordt in Sioux Center is number 10. In the public university category, the University of Iowa is tied for 21st. Iowa State University is tied at 38th. You can read the rankings for yourself on-line at www.usnews.com.
