One of Iowa’s congressmen is in the hospital, recovering from surgery. Leonard Boswell’s office says he underwent an operation on Tuesday to remove a mass from his abdomen. A news release says his recovery stay in the hospital will be longer than usual, likely for a couple of weeks. Boswell is 71 and had gall bladder surgery and an appendectomy less than a year ago. The Des Moines Democrat, in the release, says he intends to continue representing Iowa for years to come and he will run for re-election next fall.
