Former Maquoketa Valley school bookkeeper given prison time

October 20, 2005 By admin

A former northeast Iowa school bookkeeper will spend time in prison for misusing school money. 58-year-old Linda Knutson, a former activity and food service bookkeeper as the Maquoketa Valley Schools in Delhi had been charged with first-degree theft, first-degree fraudulent practices and money laundering. She was accused of misappropriating over 10-thousand dollars in school funds. Knutson entered an Alford Plea in July to charges of third-degree theft and third-degree fraudulent practices. She was sentenced this week to two years in prison and ordered to participate in a gambling evaluation.
