Two Fairfield men die in accident

October 24, 2005 By admin

Two Fairfield men are dead after single vehicle accident this weekend. The Iowa State Patrol says 27-year-old Michael Roe was driving a 2002 Pontiac Firebird eastbound on a county road at a high rate of speed and lost control crashing and rolling several times coming to rest in a pasture on the south side of the road. The passenger, 42-year-old Victor Mallinger was dead at the scene. Roe was transported via lifeflight to University Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City where he held on through the night, however, he died the next day due to the massive head injuries he had sustained in the accident.
