I-S-U game shifted to night for TV

November 7, 2005 By admin

Iowa State’s home finale this weekend against Colorado will be televised nationally. Fox Sports Net will carry the game which will kickoff at six in Jack Trice Stadium.

The Cyclones are eligible for their fifth bowl game in six years after a 45-17 win over Kansas State on Saturday.
I-S-U coach Dan McCarney says it’s another mark in the program that they’re consistent, with five bowl games in six years. He says the pressure of getting the bowl bid is off, but they won’t relax.

The Cyclones still have a shot at the Big-12 North Division title but will need to beat a Colorado team that is hoping to lock up the division crown. Defensive lineman Nick Leaders says it’s a great feeling to be bowl eligible as that’s what they’ve been playing for all year.

Saturday marked the first time Iowa State has beaten K-State in Ames since back in 1993. He says the past few years against K-State things had gotten ugly real fast.
