There’s a delay in the trial of a Chatsworth man accused in the death of a LeMars jogger in May of last year. A grand jury earlier this year indicted Richard Heien on homicide by vehicle, in the death of Joan Wilson. Heien was also charged with involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident. Heien pleaded not guilty, and his trial had been set to begin tomorrow (Tuesday). Court records show Heien’s lawyer has told a judge the case is not ready for trial. The county attorney resisted a delay, but the judge ordered trial preparation to be completed by the end of the month. The new trial date is January 31st,.
