Authorities in western Iowa are asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle used during the robbery last (Tuesday) night of a convenience store. According to Cass County Sheriff Bill Sage, the robbery occurred at the Valley Mart, located about a half-mile south of the Interstate 80/Highway 71 interchange, at around 8:50-p.m. A white male walked into the store, told the clerk he had a gun, and demanded money. After the clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, the man left the store heading south toward a nearby truck stop, and got into the passenger side of a light-colored Cadillac with gray trim on the bottom. The vehicle took off and was last seen heading North on Highway 71. Witnesses offered no description of the vehicles’ driver, but the suspect in the robbery was described at being six-feet to six-feet, three-inches tall, wearing a grayish-blue zipped jacket, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Cass County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-233-3336.
