Business Council survey shows good news

December 10, 2005 By admin

A survey by an Iowa business group shows good signs for the state’s economy. The Iowa Business Council is made up of 20 of the largest businesses in the state. Council executive director, Elliot Smith, says the C-E-O’s of those companies have a positive outlook. He says they see a fairly good start to 2006. Smith says the survey appears to support the idea that the economy is gaining some momentum.
He says the survey indicates a slight increase in sales overall and he says all 20 members say they expect and increase in sales or to maintain sales. Smith says the positive projections for sales are backed up by the desire to spend money. He says 95-percent are looking at increasing or maintaining their capital spending for the new year.
