U-N-I downs L-S-U in basketball

December 20, 2005 By admin

The U-N-I men are off to their best start since the program moved to division one. The Panthers improved to 8-1 after stunning LSU 54-50 Monday night in Baton Rouge.
U-N-I coach Greg McDermott on his postgame show on the U-N-I Sports Network said it was a big win. He says it’s just one of 30 games, but an important one.

The Panthers sparkled on the defensive end where they held the Tigers nearly 40-points below their average. McDermott says they can win a lot of different ways, and shot the ball just good enough to win.

Eric Crawford’s three pointer in the final minute iced the game but he said defense was the difference. Crawford says L-S-U did a good job, but he says his coaches came up with a great gameplan. The Panthers travel to Las Vegas where they will play Hawaii-Pacific and Dayton later this week.
