Iowa State wins close one

December 29, 2005 By admin

Iowa State closed out the pre-conference schedule with a hard fought win over Tennessee State. Tasheed Carr’s three pointer with just under a minute remaining put the game away as the Cyclones claimed a 59-51 win to improve to 10-3.

I-S-U coach Wayne Morgan said on his postgame show on the Cyclone Network that he’s really pleased with the team’s record and R-P-I at this point in the season. The Cyclones have a few days off before they prepare for their Big-12 opener against Kansas State on January seventh. He says the stakes get higher and he hopes they’ve learned enough to take advantage of it in conference play.
