Quad Cities murder suspect arrested

January 5, 2006 By admin

A murder suspect from the Quad Cities was arrested Wednesday in far southeast Iowa by Burlington police. 22-year-old Joshua Larson of East Moline, Illinois, was wanted for the slaying of an unidentified man whose body was found after a housefire in East Moline on Tuesday night. Rock Island County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Gerry Bustos says a positive I.D. is pending, but one fact is certain. Bustos says he can’t confirm the dead man’s name but he can say the man died before the fire was set.

He says there was “blood evidence” found outside the home when deputies first responded to the fire, as they arrived before the fire crews. That evidence let them know the man died before the fire. The badly burned body was found in the back part of the house. Records show the home is owned by a man in his 80s, Lemon Horton Junior.
