Drake faces Indiana State

January 11, 2006 By admin

Drake will try to get back on the winning track tonight (Wednesday) after an 82-69 loss to Creighton Sunday. Coach Tom Davis and the Bulldogs host Indiana State. Davis says it’s like going out of the frying pan into the fire as he says there are no easy games in the conference this year.

Davis says this has been a trying stretch for all teams in the conference with a lot of games in a row. Davis says the more veterans you have the better chance you have. Davis says they’re okay physically, but he doesn’t know how their health is mentally, as they haven’t had time to practice and work on many things.

Indiana State coach Royce Waltman’s team has been trying to find someone to replace leading scorer David Moss, who is out with an injury. He says the team has gotten over the loss of Moss and competing better, but he says they’re still struggling with a comfort level of who’s going to take the shot. Drake is 2-3 in the Valley, 9-7 overall, while Indiana State is 8-5 and 1-4 in the conference. Gametime is 7:05 p.m.
