Three teens die in Guthrie County crashes

January 16, 2006 By admin

It was a deadly weekend for teenagers in Guthrie County. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office says a teenage girl from rural Adair died Friday when the car she was driving went out of control and rolled. Authorities say 17-year old Jessie Lynn Boblett was traveling south of Dogwood Avenue just after 2 P.M. Friday, when the accident occurred. Boblett was flown to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, where she died from her injuries. Services will be held Thursday at the Guthrie Center High School Gymnasium.

Less than ten hours after the Boblett accident, two Carroll County teens were killed and two others injured, when the vehicle they were in turned in-front of a semi, south of Coon Rapids. The victims were identified as the driver of the car, 16-year old Josh Tunning, of Dedham and a passenger, 17-year old William Riesenberg. Earlier in the week, 6 teens were injured in separate accidents in Cass County, and four teens were hurt in an accident that occurred in Page County.
