Council Bluffs police officer tasers fleeing man

January 23, 2006 By admin

A Council Bluffs police officer used a Taser to subdue a suspect who allegedly tried to run him over. Police say Officer Brandon Danielson approached 28-year-old Nicholas Franks in the parking lot of a Council Bluffs gas station just after midnight Saturday. Police say Franks was driving a stolen pickup and that Franks came at Officer Danielson with the truck. The officer yelled at Franks to stop, then drew his gun and ordered Franks to stop again. Franks then got out of the truck and ran, and as he was climbing a fence, Officer Danielson hit Franks in the buttocks with a Taser. Franks was arrested and is charged with first-degree theft, assault on a police officer, and eluding police.
