Denison man sentenced on sexual abuse charges

January 24, 2006 By admin

A Denison man charged with sexually abusing three young girls within the past four-and-a-half years has been sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Thirty eight-year-old Kelly Binning was sentenced yesterday (Monday) in Crawford County District Court by Judge E-A Jacobson. In December, Binning pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree sexual abuse, a class “C” Felony, and two counts of engaging in lascivious acts with a child, both class “D” felonies.

Last May, Binning — a self- proclaimed minister — was formally charged with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, with the victims ranging from four to seven-years of age. Two of the victims were reportedly enrolled at an in-home daycare operated by Binning’s wife. In addition to the prison term, Binning was also ordered to pay a total of one-thousand-750 dollars in fines and costs.
