One dies two injured in Butler County shooting

One person was murdered in an incident early this morning in north-central Iowa’s Butler County. Twenty-one-year-old Brandon Ayers of Dumont was pronounced dead at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton after being treated for injuries sustained at a residence in Dumont at about 3:20 this morning.

Two others, whose names are not being released at this time, were treated and released at Franklin General Hospital. Butler County Sheriff Tim Junker says the incident is still under investigation by his office, with the Hampton Police Department and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assisting.
