U-N-I women hit the road

January 26, 2006 By admin

The U-N-I women are on the road in Missouri Valley Conference action to take on Wichita State. The Panthers are 4-3 in conference play and coach Tony DiCecco calls the Shockers one of the Valley’s most improved teams. He says when you compare films from this year to last year, they are so much better than they were last year.

The Panthers are led by the inside duo of Cassie Hager and Tara King. He says Hager sees a lot of different defenses. He says they’ve been able to play both of them on the perimeter because of their shooting.

Hager’s ability to block shots can have a big impact but Wichita State coach Jane Albright wants her team to be aggressive. Albright says they aren’t going to back down from the shot blockers. She says her post players tend to get in foul trouble on the road, and she says hopefully that will happen to U-N-I.
