Police standoff continues in Sioux City

February 22, 2006 By admin

A standoff continues with Sioux City police. The standoff started Tuesday night about 9 PM and continues this (Wednesday) evening. The man’s been threatening suicide all day long, and reports from the scene indicate police during the day tried to use tear gas to get him to surrender, but to no avail. Then they sent in a robot borrowed from Polk County, equipped with a camera to try and determine where the man was located within the house. Police Chief Joe Frisbie said he was still hopeful for a peaceful solution.
