Drake to open MVC against Indiana State

March 2, 2006 By admin

The Drake Bulldogs open the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in St. Louis against Indiana State. The Bulldogs won both regular season matchups but Indiana State standout David Moss missed both of those games with injury. He has since returned to the lineup.

Drake coach Tom Davis who says Moss makes the Sycamores a much better team as he’s a good all around player. The Sycamores finished the Valley regular season 4-14 and coach Royce Waltman says while his team is playing better it is a long way from the level of play that saw them open the season 8-1. He says it doesn’t take much to lose your confidence, but it does take a lot to get it back. The winner advances to play regular season champion Wichita State in Friday’s quarterfinals.
