Grinnell man arrested in robbery, stabbing

March 7, 2006 By admin

Grinnell police arrested a man today in connection with a weekend stabbing. Police Chief Jody Matherly says they were seeking 22-year-old Brandon Scott Stevens on a warrant for burglary and willful injury. He says it appears they’d been on Stevens trail most of the weekend, as Matherly says that’s what Stevens told them. Matherly says they got a tip that Stevens was at a residence and arrested him there without incident.

Stevens is charged with two felonies — first-degree burglary causing injury and willful injury. He’s being held on a 100-thousand dollar bond. Police say the victim of the stabbing was someone Stevens knew and the man was treated and released at the local hospital.
