There will plenty of chances to see the U-N-I football team play during the upcoming season. Besides six games scheduled for the UNI-Dome the Panthers have a couple of road games in the state leaving only three games outside the state of Iowa.

Panther coach Mark Farley says they don’t leave the boundaries of the state until October 14th, which he says hasn’t happened before. Farley says they get to open the new Drake stadium, playing under the lights for the first time since 1960.

Not all of the biggest games will be played at home, Farley says Southern Illinois and Youngstown State are the two teams on the road that are expected to be the conference leaders. Farley says those two teams have the same kind of edge at home that U-N-I has.

Having eight games in the state of Iowa will gives the Panthers even more exposure to their growing fan base. Farley says they’re not Iowa State and not Iowa, but it is a great and unique institution.
