Syracuse coach says it’ll take best effort against Iowa

September 7, 2006 By admin

A victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes would be a boost for a Syracuse program under second year coach Greg Robinson. After posting a 1-10 mark in 2005 the Orangemen opened this season with a 20-10 loss at Wake Forest.

Robinson says it was frustrating, but he says he saw many things that were improved from a year ago. He says they have to continue to build on the improvement and continue to improve.

It has taken time for the Orangemen to adjust to a new offensive system and Robinson says the Hawkeye defense will pose another challenge. Robinson says Iowa plays “good tough defense” and says they’re stingy in the running game.

Robinson says this is a big opportunity for the program to play a team like Iowa. Robinson says it “will take everything we’ve got” to win the game.
