Iowa Valley bond issue passes

The second time was the charm Tuesday for a multi-million dollar bond issue in central Iowa. Voters in the Iowa Valley Community College District overwhelmingly approved the 35-million dollar bond issue. It would involve upgrading technology, facilities and programs.

The district includes Marshalltown Community College and Ellsworth Community College. The bond issue was narrowly defeated in December but was approved by more than 62-percent. The area covers: Grundy, Marshall, Tama, Poweshiek and Hardin counties.
