Oh no, it’s snow, falling on Northern Iowa

November 10, 2006 By admin

Iowa’s sometimes infamous for being a place where you need to run the air conditioner and heater a day apart. After unseasonable warmth just two days ago, snow is falling this (Friday) morning across much of northern Iowa. The region is under a snow advisory until noon. Snow’s been falling since early this morning, while thunder was heard and lightning flashed. Some schools in the Algona area are delayed two hours.

Three-to-five inches of snow is expected, with more in the forecast to the north. More than two inches of snow is already on the ground in Algona. Highs across Iowa today may only reach the 30s and 40s — that’s a long way from the highs in the 70s and 80s just Wednesday.
