Named released on Bremer County accident victim

December 8, 2006 By admin

Bremer County authorities have released the name of the victim of a deadly car/semi accident that happened near Tripoli in which the driver of the car appeared to have driven into the path of the semi on purpose.

Fifty-five-year-old Elizabeth Butikofer of Cedar Falls was driving north on Highway 63 at about 10 A.M. Thursday, when she appeared to have intentionally swerved into the path of a southbound semi driven by 23-year-old Andrew Beer of Lime Springs. Butikofer was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is still pending. The highway was closed to traffic for about five hours. The semi driver was not injured.
