Iowa women look for elusive home victory

January 25, 2007 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeye women will be looking for their first home victory in Big Ten play tonight when they host Minnesota. The Hawks are 3-4 in conference play and all of the wins have come on the road. That includes a 58-56 win at Minnesota back on December 28th, a game in which the Hawkeyes rallied from 17 points down in the second half.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says they were more aggressive in the second half of the game. She says the Gophers are a better team right now. Bluder says they’re young, but the more times you play the better you get.

Minnesota coach Pam Borton says the Gophers need a complete effort, something they did not get in the first meeting. She says they learned a big lesson from that game and went on to get some wins.
