Tom & Christie Vilsack to endorse Hillary Clinton

March 26, 2007 By admin

Later this morning, former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack and his wife, Christie, will endorse New York Senator Hillary Clinton’s bid to become the next president.

The Vilsacks will announce their support of former First Lady Hillary Clinton this morning during a 10 o’clock news conference at a Des Moines elementary school.

Hillary Clinton and Christie Vilsack’s brother were attorney friends years ago, and Hillary Clinton campaigned for Christie’s husband, Tom, when Tom Vilsack first ran for governor back in 1998.

Tom Vilsack ended his own campaign for the Democratic Party’s 2008 presidential nomination on February 23. He’d been chatting with his former foes by phone to talk about his endorsement, which could help Clinton’s ground game in Iowa since her husband did not run a Caucus campaign here in 1992.
