Man found dead inside burning car in Rudd

July 16, 2007 By admin

Floyd County officials are trying to identify a man who was found dead inside a burning car in Rudd early Sunday morning. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 400 block of Second Street in Rudd shortly after 4:30 where they found a person inside the vehicle.

Sheriff Rick Lynch wouldn’t release any other details about the fire, saying that an autopsy will be conducted by the state medical examiner in an attempt to get a positive identification of the victim so family members can be notified. The state fire marshal’s office and the Floyd County Attorney’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
