Three die in Tama County crash

August 2, 2007 By admin

Three people were killed in a two-car crash on Highway 30 in Tama County Wednesday. The Iowa State Patrol says 37 year old Shellie Dochterman of Cedar Rapids was driving a station wagon one mile west of Toledo, when she over corrected after sliding onto the shoulder of the road.

The vehicle crossed the center-line and struck a car driven by 59 year old Paul Michael of Tama. Both drivers were killed, along with a passenger in the station wagon, 78 year old Frances Dochterman. Shellie Dochterman’s five year old son, Griffin, was taken from the scene by helicopter to Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines.
