Turtle pies being recalled

August 28, 2007 By admin

Chocolate, nuts and carmel — turtle pies can be delicious. They can also be hazardous to your health, as  Marie Callender turtle pies are being recalled in 16 states, including Iowa and Nebraska, due to high bacteria levels.

Health officials say eating the pies could bring nausea and vomiting, but so far, no one’s reported sick. The parent company, American Pie, says some 14-hundred cases of the turtle pies in question were sold in stores including Kroger, Hy-Vee and Giant Eagle. Only those with a production code on the box that ends in 1-4-3 are under the recall.
