Sumner man charged with burning his own home

Sumner man has been charged with burning down his home over a year and a half ago. Thirty-one-year-old Mark Yungtum was charged with first-degree arson in connection with a fire that destroyed his Sumner home on March 6, 2006.

The fire had been under investigation by several agencies, including the Iowa DCI, State Fire Marshal, and local authorities. Yungtum was injured in that fire and was treated at a Waterloo hospital at the time. He was booked at the Breemer County jail on Friday and released after posting bond.
