Arson suspected in Linn County school playground fire

October 1, 2007 By admin

Authorities suspect arson is to blame for fire damage to an eastern Iowa school playground. The fire was reported at 2 p.m. on Sunday outside the Center Point-Urbana Elementary School.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says the blaze caused about $50,000 in damage to playground equipment. Several school windows were also damaged. Investigators suspect the fire was set intentionally. No one was injured.
