Iowa looks to keep momentum of Illinois upset

October 15, 2007 By admin

With their long Big Ten losing streak over the Iowa Hawkeyes set their sights on Purdue. The Hawks held off Illinois 10-6 to post their first league victory and it snapped a string of eight straight conference losses dating back to last season.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says they’re making progress, but aren’t there yet. He says the seniors have been great role models for the younger players in staying positive.

The Hawks visit a Purdue team that will be hungry for a win after two straight losses. Ferentz says they seem to do a good job of walking into tough situations. He expects them to throw the ball a lot more than Illinois.

Iowa is 3-4 overall.
