Humboldt County Emergency Management Coordinator dies

October 23, 2007 By admin

The man who was Emergency Management Coordinator for Humboldt County has died after he was injured on the job two months ago. Fifty-seven-year-old Doug Wood was involved in a car crash on August 21.

Doug Wood was driving south of Bode on a county road assessing storm damage, when he hit a power pole that was suspended in heavy rain and poor visibility. Colleagues say he did his job with passion, persistence, and dedication. Funeral Services are Wednesday in his home town of Manson.
