UNI puts unbeaten record on line against Missouri State

November 1, 2007 By admin

The UNI Panthers put the nation’s top ranking and their unbeaten mark on the line when they visit Missouri State. The Panthers rallied late to beat Youngstown State a week ago and now face a Missouri State team that is unbeaten at home.

UNI coach Mark Farley says they get a great effort from everyone and people will change to play them, so they have to adapt and adjust. The Bears are led by former UNI coach Terry Allen. Farley says that factor and playing them at home will make it tough, and he says the Bears will play the ranking, not the team, so they’ll be ready.

With several coaches with UNI ties on the Missouri staff Farley says the teams are familiar with one another, especially on defense. He says they’ve changed their offense to fit the new coordinator, and says they do understand the rules of the Panther defense, but he says they understand the Bears defense too.

Farley expects a tough test as they’re undefeated at home and use the no-huddle offense that leads to lots of points. Missouri State is 5-4 overall, 2-3 in the Gateway Conference
