Iowa escapes Northwestern 53-51

February 20, 2008 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes rallied from 14 points down with just over 12 minutes remaining to edge Northwestern 53-51 and snap a three game losing skid.

Iowa coach Todd Lickliter says Northwestern made a nice run and it didn’t look good for his team. It looked for much of the second half like the Wildcats were headed for their first Big Ten win. Lickliter says Northwestern has been playing better than they did in this game and haven’t been able to get a win.

Cyrus Tate led the Hawks with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
