Waterloo city council passes tougher dog control ordinance

March 4, 2008 By admin

Dog owners in Waterloo will have to take more responsibility for their pets or pay the consequences, as  An upgraded Waterloo ordinance is designed to crack down on dangerous dogs in the city. Last night, the Waterloo city council passed the final two readings of the stricter ordinance.

Under the policy, owners of dogs that attack other people or pets will be fined. Financial penalties are also possible against owners if their dog is found loose. The third part of the new ordinance also requires dog owners have proof of liability insurance.
