Hoop fever is about to befall Des Moines, Omaha

March Madness is about to hit the region, as the college women’s basketball tourney opens in Des Moines on Saturday, with the men playing in Omaha starting tomorrow in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The first two-game session in Omaha is scheduled for 11:25 A-M with the second two-game session set to tip off at 6:10 P-M.

Omaha police are planning to ease traffic conjestion during lunch time and rush hour including adjusting traffic lights and posting sign boards to better direct out of town drivers. f you are headed to Qwest Center for the games, keep in mind fans will go through security searches and must enter on the convention center side of Qwest Center.

No backpacks or large bags will be allowed as well as all beverage cans and bottles. Parking in the Qwest Center lots will cost $6.
