ISU and Texas Tech meet with both needing a win

October 23, 2008 By admin

It will be two team desperately in need of a victory this Saturday when Iowa State hosts Texas [email protected] in their annual homecoming game. Both teams are 0-3 in the Big-12 and 2-5 overall. Under first year coach Mike Sherman, the Aggies are coming off a near upset of nationally ranked Texas Tech.

Sherman says they’re struggling just like Iowa State and need to find a way to win a football game. He says it will be a challenge to go to Ames and play in the cold. Sherman says a key for the Aggie defense will be contending with Cyclone quarterback Austen Arnaud’s ability to run and pass.

Sherman says that’s particularly a problem on third down, when the quarterback can scramble and get a first down. He says Arnaud is a dual threat and that is a bigger challenge than the quarterback they just faced.
