Dayton teen dies in accident

October 30, 2008 By admin

A 14-year-old Dayton boy was killed, five other teens hurt, in a one-vehicle accident near Burnside on Wednesday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Chase Dodson. Dodson was the passenger in a van driven by 15-year-old Cod Breitspecher of Dayton.

The van was traveling south on Quail Avenue when it lost control on the gravel road, entering the east ditch where it rolled several times. Dodson was ejected from the vehicle and died as the scene. Breitspecher and the four other passengers in the vehicle, Danny Fye, Austin Ferguson, Austin Diehl and Michael Talf, all aged 14, were taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge for treatment of their injuries.
