One man was killed, another hurt, after a car and a pickup truck collided Monday afternoon in southwestern Iowa’s Adair County. The Iowa State Patrol has identified the victim of the crash as 44-year-old Richard Allen Wyatt, of Greenfield.
Officials say a car driven by Wyatt was traveling south on County Road P-28 about three-miles south of Stuart, at the same time a pickup driven by 55-year-old John Raymond Casson, of Carson, was traveling west on 130th Street. The Patrol says Casson failed to stop at the intersection and hit the Wyatt vehicle.
The accident happened at around 2:15 PM. After the impact, both vehicles went into the ditch, with the pickup coming to rest on its side. Casson was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital in Greenfield. Wyatt died at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
