Movie production underway in Davenport

November 22, 2010 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Lights, camera, action! You may hear those words shouted in the Davenport area over the next week. The Avati brothers, Pupi and Antonio, are in the Quad-Cities to shoot some scenes for a movie they’re producing in Italy.

Some extras and two women with speaking roles were hired at a casting call a week ago in Bettendorf. The filming will take seven or eight days, not counting Thanksgiving and the day after. The Italian filmmakers have shot scenes in the Quad-Cities for more than half a dozen movies since doing a film about Davenport-born jazz legend Bix Beiderbecke in the late 1980s.
