Man dies in Dubuque County accident

January 5, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A fatal accident in northeast Iowa is under investigation. A Dubuque County man was killed in a crash near Farley Tuesday night. It happened on Highway 20 at the Farley Road overpass shortly before 6 P.M.

The Sheriff’s office says the 23-year old man was westbound when his vehicle went off the road, vaulted over a guardrail and struck a bridge support pillar in the median. The man was transported to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld until family members have been notified.

The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
