Woman arrested for shoplifting on the way to court for theft charge

May 9, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A woman in southwestern Iowa who was in a hurry to make a court appearance found herself under arrest following a traffic stop. The unidentified woman was stopped on suspicion of shoplifting make-up items at a grocery store. After she was pulled over by a Council Bluffs police officer, she asked the officer to get on with issuing the citation, so she could be on her way.

When the officer asked what her hurry was, she responded she didn’t want to be late for her court date — on a theft charge. The officer took the woman into custody on a separate theft charge.
