Lyon County teen dies in farm accident

July 21, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Officials have released the name of a northwest Iowa teen who died in a farm accident on Wednesday. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before two P.M., 17-year-old Jordan Ross Monen of Lester was working on a cattle shed door from inside a payloader bucket, when the payloader was accidentally moved forward crushing Monen between the bucket and the header of the doorway.

Monen was taken to the Sanford Canton-Inwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
