Bettendorf man given two years on child porn charge

September 7, 2011 By Matt Kelley

A Bettendorf man has been sentenced to two years in prison on a child pornography charge. The U.S. Attorney’s office in Davenport says 34-year-old Eric Honse pleaded guilty in March to one count of possessing child porn.

The case dates back to October of 2009 when Honse walked in to the Bettendorf police department and said he had a problem and wanted to get help.

He turned over four disks containing child pornography and told police he believed believed the government kept track of what people download. Honse said he downloaded child pornography from a friend’s computer.

The friend, Mark Hall, has pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.
