Cyclones look to move up in Big 12 with a win

February 22, 2012 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa State Cyclones begin the stretch run of the regular season at home tonight against Texas Tech. With a victory tonight the Cyclones would move into a third place tie with Baylor in the Big 12 and take another step toward locking up an NCAA Tournament bid.

Senior guard Scott Christopherson says this is what you dream of as a kid, making the NCAA tournament. He felt coming into the season the Cyclones had the potential to make the tournament. “I just really knew that if this team would stay focused on the things that mattered that we could be successful,” Christoperson said.

The Cyclones are 9-5 in the Big 12 and 19-8 overall. Texas Tech is 1-13 in league play and 8-18 overall.
