Pellet plant breaks ground for addition in Fort Dodge

April 17, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A ground-breaking ceremony is taking place this afternoon at a Fort Dodge factory that makes pellets of gypsum that are used in farming. Larry Moore is the president of Calcium Products, Incorporated, which is adding about 60,000 square feet to its facility.

Moore says it’ll take about three months to build the addition and another two or three months to finish the inside. The expansion project will enable the company to ramp up production, as he says they’re currently not able to meet demand. It will mean the addition of about ten jobs.

Moore said the expanded plant will help the company distribute its product to other Calcium Product facilities in Alden and Aplington. The company also has a production facility in Gilmore City.
