Name released in fatal northwest Iowa crash

May 23, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Authorities have released the name of a man who was killed in three-vehicle crash earlier this week in northwest Iowa. The State Patrol reports 57-year-old Randal Haveman of Whiting died when his pickup crossed the center line on a roadway and collided head on with a straight truck.

It happened Monday afternoon on county road K-45 just north of Sloan in Woodbury County. The driver of the straight truck, 23-year-old Boe Jenkins of Sloan, was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

A third vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Chad Carlson of Sloan, swerved to avoid the collision and his vehicle end up in a field. Carlson was NOT injured.
